Headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahlam Dara Aziz, Director of the Center for Continuing Education, a delegation from the Center, in cooperation with the University Psychological Counseling Division, organized a visit to the Directorate of the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs / Nineveh Plain Section, on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
During the visit, both parties discussed mechanisms of cooperation, including the organization of workshops, seminars, and training courses directed at the staff of the Directorate, as well as recreational activities for persons with special needs. The discussions also covered fitness programs and other initiatives that contribute to their psychological and physical support, reaffirming their value and importance in society and promoting their active integration within it.
The visit aimed to review the services provided to this group, exchange expertise on developing support and care mechanisms, and strengthen cooperation between the university and the Directorate. This initiative contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
